Hey Everyone! My name is Liz and about 8 months ago I was inspired to create my own line of all-natural and organic dog treats. With all the dog food recalls, I couldn't bare the thought of something happening to my sweet little Kaylee.

About Kaylee:
Kaylee was born on March 5, 2006. She is a tri colored shih tzu, that is full grown at a whopping 10 lbs. She is very sweet and loves to play, although she's not really a fan of the dog park. She is shy and often gets overwhelmed by larger dogs, so she prefers to do her running around and playing inside, and when at the park she's content to sit on the bench and watch everything with the people.

Her best buddy's name is Barkley, a gorgeous Tibetan Terrier who's time she treasures when she visits him in Chicago 2-3 times a year. When Kaylee and Barkley are together they just play, and play and play.

We use Kaylee Kakes as a reward when we teach Kaylee tricks. She knows how to sit, go down, shake hands, give high five and also roll over. We're trying to teach her to hug and go to sleep too. When Kaylee is not busy doing tricks to earn treats (her favorite flavor is blueberry) she loves to cuddle.

Kaylee really changed my life, and it's because of her that I decided to set off on this adventure of making high end, high quality all natural dog treats.

How Kaylee Kakes Happened...:
For as long as I can remember, my nickname for Kaylee has been Kaylee Kakes, which often turns into Kakey Bakey. One day when my boyfriend Ryan and I were playing with Kaylee, I started joking about baking some treats for her and calling them Kaylee Kakes. After a while, I started thinking to myself, "Hey, wait, maybe I can really do this!" It was around that time, I watched "The Secret" and that was it! I was truly inspired to move forward with my idea.

I started researching ingredients, and spoke to my veteranarian to make sure everything was safe and healthy for dogs. I started testing out recipes, and within my very first batch, Kaylee went bananas!! She literally started begging for treats, which wasn't the norm for her. I started giving samples out to friends and family, and received an overwhelmingly awesome response. It just so happens that most of the other taste testers became beggers as well! That's when I knew I was on to something.

I knew I really wanted to move forward with this, but wondered what would make my product different from all the rest. I'll tell you what, Kaylee Kakes is different because of the ingredients and the manner in which each treat is made. Unlike most commercial dog treats, mine are hand made with care, using only top of the line ingredients. All ingredients are human grade, all-natural, and/or organic. When feeding your dog high quality products, you are eliminating potentially harmful substances from their diet, such as chemicals, antiobiotics, growth hormones, as well as other toxins. This is a sure way to keep your beloved dog happy and healthy.

The Packaging:
So, now that my ingredient list and recipes were squared away, I wanted to figure out a way to incorporate some fun into my product packaging. I began working with Gary Yap, a former animator on King of the Hill, Family Guy, and The Simpsons, as well as a 2 time emmy-nominated storyboard artist (for King of the Hill).

I really wanted to create images of Kaylee that were adorable and cute, reflecting her personality. With Gary being an accomplished artist, I knew they would be perfect. My boyfriend helped me come up with themes for each treat, and he took Gary's drawings and designed all the labels. Fortunately for me, the designs for my packaging not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. It was very important to me that the product labels reflected the high end feel of my treats, so I couldn't be happier.

About Me:
Currently, I am working on creating more treats, and will be selling them at street fairs in the Los Angeles area, and of course, here on the web site. My ultimate goal is to get them distributed in Whole Foods.

Aside from making dog treats, I still work in the wrestling industry part time. Oh...Did I forget to mention that? I've been a professional wrestler for 7 years, and have been featured in many magazines, as well as on PPV and DVD's, and on MTV for the wrestling show "Wrestling Society X."

Even with all of the wrestling stuff and TV, this is without a doubt the most exciting time in my life, as creating Kaylee Kakes has given me an incredible sense of pride and accomplishment, not to mention a true purpose, as not only does my baby (Kaylee) get to eat wholesome treats that are better for her, but other dogs could share in the benefits as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy these treats!
